Traffic Review: Adsterra Social Bar
Today I wanna to share with you some insights into Adsterra’s Social Bar traffic. I have been using it for over 6 months and had some nice successes with it (more on that later).
So what is this Social Bar thingy?
Basically it is inpage push with the exception that it is not so boring.
With boring I mean this:

That is what inpage push typically looks like on most sources. Without Lionel on it, hardly anybody would click it…
On Adsterra however you can choose from 28 different designs for your inpage push message. Some designs come with 3 lines of text, 2 images or are even animated…

The last category probably explains why it is called social bar.
Do the designs make a difference?
The short answer is: Yes!
A more detailed answer you find in the following banner stats. For all 6 banners I used the same text and images only the designs were different.

The first three banners I had to stop within minutes as they had a very high creative ctr (above 10%) and thus got loads of traffic. The remaining three did not attract so many clicks but had a far higher cr. Two of them made money right away.
In the following rounds I tested variations within the design category that showed the best balance for my campaign. Then I did some blacklisting and bid adjustments. A few days later I had a cpc camp that ran pretty stable for several weeks.

Once Adsterra introduced cpa option for their Social Bar traffic I had to try that of course. But first I did some test rounds to find a good design for my new camp and make sure that things can work.
