How I Find the Main Traffic Sources for a Geo

I’m no expert on intelligence-gathering, but here are a couple of ways I’ve been using to identify the highest-volume traffic sources for geos I’m wanting to scale for. Hopefully this will draw more tips from those of you that are more-experienced in this area!

1)Alexa Top Sites

http://www.alexa.com/topsites/countries

I’d just choose the geo and go over the top 50-100 sites by hand. There must be an easier way – perhaps by using a site like buildwith.com to identify the ad networks each site uses.

Anyway, I’d look through the sites for a)traffic sources themselves and b)sites with ads on them – and obviously find out which network the ads are from. Sometimes just by h ...
